Public funding for your R&D project in Türkiye: KOSGEB, TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry

Published:

Türkiye has several public funding mechanisms for innovative product and process development. Picking the right programme directly affects your chances of approval and the benefit you get. Here is an overview of the three main agencies.

KOSGEB

KOSGEB is known for its SME programmes. Its R&D, Product Development and Innovation Support Programme aims to cover part of the project costs of businesses developing new products or processes. Programmes focused on digital transformation and entrepreneurship also open periodically.

TÜBİTAK TEYDEB

TÜBİTAK's Technology and Innovation Funding Programmes Directorate (TEYDEB) supports industrial R&D. The 1501 Industrial R&D Projects programme is open to companies of every size, while 1507 SME R&D Start-up is designed for SMEs doing their first R&D project. Technical novelty and risk must be clearly defined.

Ministry of Industry and Technology

The ministry provides tax and cost advantages for R&D through R&D and design centres, technology development zones and investment incentives. These suit businesses with ongoing R&D activity.

Before you apply

  • State clearly what the project makes new and what the technical risk is; rebuilding what already exists is rarely funded.
  • Plan work packages, timeline and budget items realistically.
  • Name the technical team and any external partners from the start.
  • Check current application windows, rates and conditions on the agencies' official sites.

At Orellian we work as technical partner on software, IoT and agritech projects, from the idea and project design through development and reporting.
